Medela Freestyle Breast Pump : Medela Freestyle Parts Review

Assalamualaikum mommies,

What is the menu for today's lunch? I haven't think of any menu yet. I  Don't know what to cook for lunch so let's googling new recipi to be tried out. Before we continue cooking, how about we meet with this brand new Medela Freestyle Siblings. So, to all Medela freestyle fans, this is some reviews on parts of Medela Freestyle. Do enjoy reading till the end =)

1. This is Compact Pump which is the motor of Medela Freestyle . To control the level of suctions, you only have to press the button - or +. Since Medela freestyle has 2-Phase Expression Technology, it mimic the way baby sucks mother's breasts. When pumping, you can go back to the stimulation stage by pressing the let down button (the drop milk button). The motor also has memory, so to mark the comfartable level of stimulation and expression phase just press the memory button for 3 seconds.

2. This is Breastshield Spare Part that consists of Connector Body, Membrane, dan Back Cap. Double Pump Breastshield spare part have to be attached with the tubing at the back of the Back Cap. Note that after cleaning the pump, make sure the hole for tubing at the back cap is dry to avoid water entering the tubing when you are expressing milk.

3.This Transparent Tubing should be connected to Compact Pump dan Breastshield spare part at different ends.

4. As you already known, the new packaging of Medela Freestyles provides 2 pairs of PersonalFit Breastshileds instead of SoftFit Breastshields. The best thing is these two pairs have different size to accomodate different mothers' breast size. So, the PersonalFit Breastshields come in size M (24mm) and size L (27mm).

5. For this set, you will get 4 BPA-free Breastmilk Bottle with lids, one Slow Flow Wide Base Nipple and Travelling Cap for feeding or storage. So it really good to get these 4 bottle as you can save up for 4 bottles. :)



6. The above picture is Contoured Ice Pack which can last up to 12 hours. So, the Contoured Ice Pack might be still cold when you reach home from work. This kind of gel ice pack will ensure no leaking as the outer cover of the ice pack is made by hard plastic. =) 

7. Not forgetting you will also get Contoured Ice Pack along with this Removable Cooler Bag. So, you dont have to buy new one unless you want to fill in with more than 4 breastmilk bottles since this cooler bag can only carry 4 Breastmilk Bottle together with Contoured Ice Pack at a time.

8. Why Medela Freestyle? Because it has a superb Handsfree Equipment to ease your pumping session when you are busy doing other things. The handsfree equipment includes Hands-free Kit handsfree straps that have top and bottom straps. It is clipped to the bra, Therefore to secure the hansfree  straps top and bottom, you will need Bra Adapters Hook and Eyes as well as Bra Adapters Universal.

9. Support Belt and Extension are used with handsfree Kit. It is adjustable waist belt to clip freestyle into for mobility.

So, you are able to express milk at the office three times and each session only takes 15 minutes to finish. So you can recharge the baterry on weekend. 2-Phase Expression Technology in Medela Breast Pumps

Do you know that Medela Freestyle has 2-Phase Expression Technology? So, what is 2-Phase Expression Technology?? Can anyone tell mommy what is that? If you can get the right answer mommy will give you a big colourful round candy. =P

Okay then, let's talk about this so called 2-Phase Expression Technology. Most Breast Pumps from Medela such as Medela Freestyle, Medela Harmony, Medela Swing and Pump In Style (PISA) are using 2-Phase Expression Technlogy except Medela Mini Electric. This 2-Phase Expression technology is about stimulation dan expression which is mimicing the baby suction at the breasts. I am sure all the breastfeeding moms know how your baby sucks your breasts and for those who haven't experience this let's continue reading this. =)

When a baby is latching on the breast, the baby will at first suck the breast in a fast pace or rythm. After a few fast suctions, then moms will feel the reflex down which means that a lot of milk is flowing down from the breast to Areola. At this time, the baby only sucks the breast in a slow pace or rythm in order to fully suck the milk in the deep suction. When the mother hears the baby swallows the milk, it shows that the baby is getting a lot of milk.

With this 2-Phase Expression technology, the pump will start with the stimulation phase in the fast pace or rythm within the first 2 minutes. Afterthat, it changes to expression phase where the pump expresses the milk in a slow pace or rythm. To control the level of stimulation and expression in order to get required comfort, you can press button - and +. Avent Twin Electric Breast Pump - Review on Breast Pump Part

Apa khabar semua? Mommy harap ibu-ibu di luar sana sihat-sihat sentiasa dan sentiasa bersemangat untuk membreastfeed all you beautiful babies. Minggu ni banyak stok Avent yang sampai sebab permintaan untuk Avent Breastpump pon makin bertambah. Alhamdulillah. Mommy selalu terfikir kalau ada ibu-ibu yang bertanyakan pasal breastpump atau beli breastpump bermakna bertambahlah golong breastfeeding mommies. rasa seronok kalau lagi ramai bakal-bakal ibu yang dapat join this so called club menyusu dengan susu ibu.heee.. Jadi hari ini, untuk peminat setiap produk Avent breastpump, mommy nak ajak mommies berkenalan dengan part-part yang ada dalam Avent Double Electric Breastpump. (tak dapat guna, berkenalan pon jadilah =P)

1. Ini kita panggil Pump Motor. Comel je bentuk die, hemisfera. Mommy sertakan pandangan depan, sisi dan atas pump motor nih.

2. Ini pula Twin Tubing yang ada Transparent Tubes. Dan Twin Tubing ini ada satu kabel macam lan cable. Klass gitu bleh connect internet plak masa mengepam susu.hihi..Takdelah, actually yang macam lan wayar tu kita panggil  Control Cable. Control Cable ini akan di attach pada pump motor untuk control suction pump.

3. Di hujung Twin Tubing pula ada Control Handle dan Double Pump Connector. Control Handle ini boleh digunakan secara elektrik atau manual. Cuma kalau nak guna secara manual kena ikut sket step untuk ubah dia. Then, Double Pump Connector kita attach pada pump body bila kita nak pump dua-dua breast. Kalau nak pump satu breast saja just just attachkan pump pada Control Handle.

4. Ini pula Pump Body. Pada pump body ini ada Let-down Massage Cushion, White Valve, Silicone Diaphragm, Stand/Funnel Cover dan Sealing Base.

a) Let-down Massage Cushion ini akan massage areola kita untuk mengeluarkan susu yang tersimpan di areola.

b) White Valve ini untuk menurunkan susu yang di pam ke dalam botol. macam span gitu. White valve ini takleh dicuci guna benda tajam. Hanya alirkan soapy warm water.

c) Silicone Diaphragm ni nak bagi vakum pada pump.

d) Stand/Funnel Cover ini memang multipurpose use. Kalau pump tidak digunakan ia boleh dijadikan cover untuk menutup Let-down Massage Cushion. Jadi takdelah terken habuk. Then masa mengepam susu pula boleh attach ia pada avent bottle 4oz. Jadi pump body can stand on its own bila dah letak stand nih. Takdela risau susu tumpah ke.heee..

e) Akhir sekali Sealing Base ni kita gunakan untuk tutup bahagian bawah body pomp bila pump tidak digunakan dan lagi sekali takdelah habuk nak masuk dalam pump bila atas bawah ditutup.hihi..



 5. Dalam set ini mommies akan dapat 2 set Milk container, Adaptor Rings, Dome Cap, Extra Soft Newborn Flow Nipple, Screw Ring dan Sealing Disk. Semua dapat dua set. Jadi letak gunakan botol untuk tadah perahan susu boleh terus gunakan untuk feed baby. Just attach Dome Cap, Extra Soft Newborn Flow Nipple dan Screw Ring. Dan bila nak gunakan Milk Container ini sebagai breastmilk stprage just pasang Screw Ring dan Sealing Disk. Sebelum terlupa, Adaptor Ring tu kita guna masa nak pump susu. Sebelum attach Milk Container pada Pump Body kena pasang dulu Adaptor Ring supaya susu tak melimpah ke luar. terus masuk dalam botol.

6. Electric Adaptor dan Wall Plug Cord untuk Avent Twin Electric Breast Pump  guna 240 volt,  jadi ianya sesuai di gunakan di Malaysia. Tapi mommies hanya perlu beli adaptor Malaysia yang 3 pin sebab Wall Plug Cord adalah 2 pin.

7.  Macam biasa dalam set ini mesti disertakan dengan  Avent`Manual Book dan DVD untuk panduan ibu untuk mengoperasikan pump ni. Dan yang paling best dapat freegift berupa 2 pack Ultra Comfart Disposiable Breast Pads. Bolehlah nak guna kalau susu kite overflow.hee..

8. Last but not least, you will get all the things in the picture below. hihi.. Taaadaaaaaaaa...

Oppsss.. lupa nak bagitau, set ini ada tote bag. Jadi nnt senanglah nak angkut breastpump ke hulu ke hilir. Ganti handbag!.hehe.. nampak tak dalam pic tu? Kalau tak nampak pendek umur =P

Medela Softfit Breastshields VS Medela Personalfit Breastshields

Assalamualaikum mommies,

Hurm, baru-baru nih ada seorang customer tanya pasal packaging baru medela freestyle yang tiada softfit katanya. Mommy pun mula-mula salah faham pasal packaging yang baru ini sebab mommy ingatkan packing baru medela freestyle dibekalkan 2 set softfit breastshields. Rupa-rupanya memang tak ada pon ditulis diluar box medela freestyle pasal softfit. 2 pasang breastshields yang dibekalkan adalah jenis personalfit. Then, mommy tanyalah mr google.. menurut sumber yang mommy baca secara online katanya medela inc tak keluarkan lagi softfit untuk di setkan di dalam pakaging medela freestyle. Tak tau lah sahih atau tidak berita ini, tapi kalau benar pon memang terbukti sebab packaging baru medela freestyle sudah tidak ada softfit. Mommy guna packaging lama so memang dibekalkan dengan sepasang softfit saje lah.

Costumer yang tanya mommy tu sebenarnya pernah guna softfit untuk medela swing, jadi dia rasa pelik la sebab medela freestyle sudah tak ada soft fit. katanya dia memang suka dan lebih selesa guna soft fit berbanding personalfit sebab katanya personalfit lebih keras berbanding softfit. Mommy nak komen pon tak boleh sebab mommy tak penah guna lagi personal fit. Jadi mommy tanya mr google sekali lagi. Menurut ruangan forum  dan komen-komen ibu yang penah guna personal fit, sesetengah kata tak best kerana kurang flexible mcm softfit, tapi sesetengah ibu-ibu pula kata personal fit bagus sebab boleh disesuaikan dengan size nipple dan tak rasa plak kekerasannya. Jadi mommy simpulkan, ibu-ibu kat luar sana kena cuba guna dua-dua softfit or personal fit dan tengak yang mane ibu-ibu suka. Tak semua mempunyai citarasa yang sama. betul x? =)

Mommy pon berkira-kira gak nak beli personal fit sebab nak rasa apa yang orang lain rasa bila guna personal fit. Jadi nanti boleh la letak review kat sini untuk panduan mommies sekalian. heee.. =)

Medela Freestyle Breast Pump - Parts Review

Masak apa tengahari nih? Musim cuti sekolah ini boleh lah mommy masak for lunch. Kalau tak mommy beli or kadang-kadang tak makan. tunggu masak n makan for dinner. Jangan ikut ye, sebab nnt tak cukup nutrian untuk nak produce susu.Bukannya boleh kurus kalau tak makan, kalau breastfeed lagi kurus adalah.hehe..mommy pon tak masak lagi nih, baru je nak masak tetiba terrajin plak nak update blog. Okay berbalik kepada tajuk entry hari ini mommy nak kenalkan mommies kepada Medela Freestyle plak. Kelmarin mommy dah kenalkan Avent Twin Electric Breastpump. Jadi hari ini giliran peminat-peminat Medela Breastpump pula.

1. Medela motor pump ini kita panggil compact pump. Di motor ni kita boleh control suction dengan menekan simbol - atau simbol +.

**Sebelum itu, mommy nak jelaskan dengan panjang lebar pasal 2-Phase Expression Technology  yang ada pada medela freestyle dan breastpump2 lain dr medela. 2-Phase Expression technology adalah untuk stimulation dan expression seperti me-mimic baby suction. Kalau Ibu yang menyusu mesti tau dan bagi ibu yang belum penah menyusu mesti pening pala sbb tatau cara baby hisap puting. Macam nih, kalau baby yang breastfeed , mula2 baby akan hisap puting dengan rhytm yang laju untuk stimulate breast bagi mengeluarkan susu. Bila susu dah keluar baby hanya akan hisap dengan rthym yang lambat2 untuk menegeluarkan susu sepenuhnya dari breast. Dan pada masa ni ibu-ibu akan mendengar bunyi tegukkan dari tekak baby. Ini menunjukkan baby mendapat susu yang banyak. Jadi dengan adanya 2-Phase Expression technology, pump akan stimulate dengan laju dahulu dalam 2 minit pertama dan selepas itu secara automatik akan mengexpress susu dengan rythm yang lambat2. Kita boleh control stimulation dan expression dengan menekan simbol - atau + untuk ke level yang selesa. Semasa pump tgh express kita boleh pergi balik ke stimulation dengan menekan butang letdown (gmbr susu menitik tu). Faham ke mommies. Maaflah kalau penjelasan saya ini tak berapa jelas. :D

2. Ini ialah Breastshield spare part yang ada Connector Body, Membrane, dan Back Cap. Double Pump Breastshield spare part ini kita kan attach dengan tubing pada lubang di Back Cap. Selepas mencuci Back Cap kita kena pastikan lubang tubing pada back cap ini betu-betul kering sebab masa nak pump nnt air akan tersedut ke dalam transparent tubing dan akan sampai ke motor.

3.Transparent Tubing ini untuk disambung pada Compact Pump dan Breastshield spare part.

4. Dalam packaging baru Medela Freestyle ni kita akan dapat PersonalFit Breastshileds dan bukan lagi SoftFit Breastshields. Yang bestnya kita akan dapat dua saiz PersonalFit Breastshields iaitu size M (24mm) dan size L (27mm). So boleh fit diffrent breast size lah.

5. For this set, you will get 4 BPA-free Breastmilk bottle with lids, one slow flow wide base nipple and travelling cap for feeding or storage. Dah jimat dah dapat 4 bottle. :)



6. Ini pula Contoured Ice Pack yang boleh last up to 12 hours. So kalau mommies balik dari opis pon still sejuk lagi ice pack ni. =)Ice pack ini dalam bentuk gel dan insyaAllah takkan leaking sebab luaran dia adalah plastik bukannya bag plastik. =) 

7. kalau dah dapat Contoured Ice Pack mestilah dapat Removable Cooler Bag jugak. Memang untung sangat-sangat sebab takyah beli set cooler bag yang baru.hehe.. Cooler bag ini hanya boleh memuatkan 4 Breastmilk Bottle dan Contoured Ice Pack.

8. Ini ialah Hands-free Kit handsfree straps yang ada top and bottom straps. Ianya dilekatkan pada bra, jadi untuk lekatkan pada bra kita perlukan Bra adapters hook and Eyes serta bra adapters universal.

9. Support Belt and Extension ini kita gunakan bersama handsfree Kit. It is adjustable waist belt to clip freestyle into for mobility. 

10. Gambar kiri ialah power cord atau charger yang mempunyai 240 volt dan sesuai digunakan di Malaysia. Gambar belah kanan pula adalah Rechargeable Lithium -ion Battery which can lasts up to 3 hours. So kalau mommies mengepam susu di opis sebanyak tiga kali dan setiap sesi penegpaman tu hanya ambil masa 15 minit. Jadi rechargeable bateri ini cukup untuk seminggu. Jadi on weekend jangan lupa charge pulak. dalm kereta pon boleh guna rechargeable bateri ini kalau mommies takde car adapter.

Packaging Baru Medela Freestyle 2012

Hari ni Mommy nak share sket pasal medela freestyle yang datang dengan packaging yang baru mulai Oktober 2011. Dalam packaging baru  nie ada extra BREAST SHIELD size M & L. Yang lama cuma ada sepasang saja breast shield (yang mommy sendiri pon taktau size apa). Jadi packaging baru nih lebih mesra pengguna sebab pengguna boleh pilih nak guna breast shield yang bersesuian dengan nipple masing - masing. Penting tau guna breast shield yang sesuai supaya nanti dapat susu meriah sket.hehe..

Perjuangan Mommy Menyusukan Anak

Hi peeps,

Alhamdulillah, Mommy dah selamat melalui tempoh percubaan selama 6 bulan untuk fully breastfeed si Aushaf Iman. So, Aushaf Iman dengan bangganya nak declare susu mommy yang bagi dia membesar setiap hari.hehe.. InsyaAllah, mommy pon macam ibu-ibu lain juga, mommy nak teruskan penyusuan susu ibu sampai aushaf Iman berumur 2 tahun atau lebih dan selagi mommy mampu.

Mommy faham kenapa sesetengah ibu-ibu yang berkerjaya tak mahu atau kurang berusaha nak menyusukan anak sepenuhnya. Antara jawapan2 glamor LECEH nak basuh pump susu n storage bottle, KEKANGAN MASA, BUSY,PERLU KOMITMEN sbb kena perah sekurang-kurangnya 3-4 kali sehari, PENAT (penat keje kat opis + penat urus rumahtangga). Bagi mommy semua jawapan-jawapan tu adalah benar sama sekali. Mommy akui mommy pon pernah rasa macam jawapan-jawapan diatas tuh. Kesan dia pengeluaran susu pon merudum. Time tu dok start kalut macamana nak banyakkan susu balik. makan itu makan ini.hehe.. pastu teringat takkan nak bagi Aushaf Iman minum SUSU LEMBU.huhu. Jadi semangat nak menyusu boost balik. Tambah2 selepas baca blog ibu2 yang tegar menyusus ibu sepenuhnya, rasa bersemangat balik nak menyusu sepenuhnya. Satu lagi tak larat nak dengar si Papa Aushaf Iman berleter sbb tak perah susu.hehe..

1. NIAT awal dan berFIKIRAN POSITIF. Masa mengandung lagi kena niat untuk persediaan mental dan fizikal. Baru susu akan meriah. Kalau kata letih leceh susu pon takmau keluar.hauhuahua. And then kalau rajin tiap2 hari selain berzikir, chant la dalam hati 'nak susu, nak susu, nak susu". Moga2 Allah kurniakan rezeki susu itu. =)

2. BERDISIPLIN utk perah susu dan menyusukan anak sekerap mungkin.

3. MAKAN MAKANAN BERKHASIAT DAN TAMBAH SUSU mcm kurma. Mommy ambil habatussauda jugak ;)

4. SOKONGAN SUAMI TERCHENTA yang tak jemu dok peringat si ibu supaya perah susu.hehe..

P/s: Part yang best bila mesyusu ibu sepenuhnye ni.. JIMAT DUIT!!! Sepupu Aushaf Iman minum susu abes RM360 sebulan, Aushaf Iman minum susu free. TAK kopak mommy sebab takyah beli susu formula and tak kopak mommy sebab papa yang sponsor pump susu.hihihi..
